Making Veterinary Care More Accessible to All Pet Parents

The Toronto Humane Society was pleased to have offered nearly $175,000 of subsidized veterinary and pet health services to those in our community who may not otherwise have been able to access or afford veterinary care for their beloved companion animals.

Our Public Veterinary Services are integral to the welfare of thousands of animals in our city, and we will continue to expand and improve these services, to help ensure that all pet caregivers have somewhere to turn when their pet needs help—regardless of their income or situation.

With a new grant of $95,000 from PetSmart Charities of Canada, we can now provide another 1,200 subsidized spay and neuter surgeries, vaccinations, medications, and microchips for pet parents on a subsidized income in 2019. PetSmart Charities of Canada has been a long-time partner and supporter of the Toronto Humane Society and is committed to helping to keep people and pets healthy, happy and together.

We could not be more excited about this grant as we continue to expand on our community outreach and support programs. Programs like our subsidized spay/neuter services, where we provide individuals in-need with affordable, high-quality animal care.

Thanks to PetSmart Charities of Canada, we now have the resources to not only continue offering these services, but expand on them into the future.
